Do I need to see a GP first?
No. As an ACC registered provider we can lodge your claim (ACC45) at your first appointment.
What does ACC cover?
Injuries caused by an accident, such as a fall, a sports injury, a lifting strain or a car accident. Gradual wear and tear or illness is usually not covered.
Is there a time limit?
Claims should be lodged within 12 months of the injury. The sooner you start treatment, the better.
How do I know my claim is approved?
ACC usually confirms by text or letter within about a week. We can start treatment while the claim is being assessed.
What do I pay?
ACC pays most of the cost. You pay a surcharge of $20 for acc acupuncture – initial, $20 for acc acupuncture – follow-up, $40 for acc physiotherapy.
What should I bring?
Photo ID, your NHI number if you know it, and your ACC claim number if you already have one.
